Competitions
Pacific DanceArts participates in select local competitions throughout the school season. Most recently, Pacific DanceArts has started to participate in major international ballet competitions as it realizes that these competitions help expose students training for a career in ballet, to the outside world of dance.

It is the general belief of Pacific DanceArts that ballet is considered to be one of the truest art forms and therefore, is not geared towards competition. For this reason, Pacific DanceArts does not allot a large amount of training time to competition. It does, however, allow participation in competitions or festivals, by the student’s request, as Pacific DanceArts believes that competitions do provide dancers with a venue to perform, which is a valuable part of all dancers’ training

All students of Pacific DanceArts are welcome to submit a request to partake in any competition or festival that may be offered. Requests will be reviewed and a decision will be made based on the amount of preparation time required and the cost to the individual student.

Since the decision to participate in major international ballet competitions, students from Pacific DanceArts have travelled to the following competitions.

4th Shanghai International Ballet Competition 2007 – Shanghai, China
